KIDS CARES provides PREVENTION programs with the children and trainings for faculty and staff.
Our goal is to move one step closer to preventing our kids in our communities from becoming the next generation of abusers and victims.

Hilton Farris
Our PREVENTION programs speaks to over 20,000 students in four county schools each year. The Kid CARES Coordinator works with several prevention programs, along with trainings for teachers and different programs for area staff.
Presentation Program
Hilton Farris provides a presentation on Internet Safety Prevention for teens
Some programs offered:

MAKING SMART CHOICES:
Appropriate age materials groups that help promote discussion to identify bullying behaviors. Presenting the Bullying Show helps the victim see how to get help from others and how to help themselves.

VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN:
This program speaks to the male viewer as well as the female viewer. This program raises the crucial point that violent acts against women are a problem that we all male or female-must recognize before it can be addressed and changed.

This program will examine violence against women and give them the tools they need to protect themselves and to avoid victimization. The program will also demonstrate to female as well as male viewers how such violence affects both victims and perpetrators.

INTERNET SAFETY:
Lessons for K-2, Grade 3-5, and MS and HS.

Children learn rules to stay safe while on the internet.
This presentation represents true stories teens have experienced while falling into the trap of Internet predators.
Middle School ages will be impacted by these lessons.

EMOTIONAL SELF-CONTROL:
The students will be presented with multiple scenarios in which good and poor self-control have been demonstrated as well as open-ended exercises in which they will learn about their own styles and how they can be improved.

HURTING WITH WORDS:

Understanding Emotional Violence and Abuse.

Above all, this program will encourage the young to become more aware of the potential of their words.
