HOW WE HELP
- Intervention-
working directly with victims who have been sexually assaulted or abused through counseling and coordinating with local resources to get them the help they need. - Prevention-
providing prevention programs with over 19,000 students in area schools and working with perpetrators in our required Choices program. - Education-
training and educating teachers, law enforcement and the community on spotting and reporting abuse and how not to become a victim. - Outreach-
providing emergency shelter, 24- hour hotline, clothing, food and counseling. Aggressively seeking those suffering from trauma and give them the help they need to recover from what they have experienced.

Hill Country CARES serves Kerr, Kendall, Kimble, Gillespie and Bandera counties and outlying rural areas. We promote healthy relationships and seek to prevent domestic and sexual crimes by working with people at high risk of victimization and the perpetrators themselves. Several divisions of CARES services fall under our umbrella:

Do You Know About ReRuns?
To help support the costs of providing services, Hill Country CARES has opened ReRuns Resale Shop; located at 515 Hays Street in Kerrville just across from Community Recycling Center. Clothing, jewelry, household items, furniture, books, home decor, bed & bath linens, dishes, glasses, cookware and holiday goods are some of the many items offered at thrift store prices. Our clients in need are given vouchers to shop the store absolutely free of charge. Our inventory comes from area businesses and Hill Country folks just like you. So if you find yourself with useful items in good condition left from cleaning closets and storage buildings, or with leftovers from an estate sale, garage sale, or yard sale, please help Hill Country CARES by donating to ReRuns. All proceeds go clirectly to Hill Country CARES and the people we help. YOU can make a difference in the lives of hurting people in your communities.
