CLIENT ADVOCACY:
· Tutoring adults: GED preparation, English as a second language, job skills
· Teaching life skills: parenting, banking, nutrition, personal style and grooming
· Assisting with materials and presentations for client counseling
· Attending and monitoring related trials in area courts
· Accompanying clients: court proceedings, appointments with law enforcement, emergency room exams, community agencies and services

CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES:
· Tutoring and mentoring
· Teaching home-schooled shelter residents
· Child care during adult counseling sessions and court dates
· Story time reading sessions
· Baking activities, cookouts, special event parties
· Assisting with field trips

COMMUNITY AWARENESS:
· Speakers bureau for community group presentations
· Recruiting dedicated volunteers
· Identifying opportunities for speaking engagements throughout the area
· Assisting with public relations projects
· Distributing posters and brochures

PROPERTY BEAUTIFICATION:
· Yard maintenance
· Facility improvements and site upkeep
· General facility cleaning
· Seasonal decorations
· Landscaping

SHELTER SERVICES:
· Answering hotline
· Transporting and sorting donations
· Providing home-prepared food items

SPECIAL EVENTS:
· Assisting with fundraising projects
· Helping with cooperative education and training projects
· Serving with staff to host annual board meeting and volunteer appreciation luncheon

OFFICE & CLERICAL TASKS:
· Receptionist in administrative office
· Compiling client folders and Protective Order packets
· Duplication of materials
· Writing notes of appreciation for donations
· Assisting with in-house publications and mail-outs
· Folding, labeling and sorting newsletters
